As more Divisions surrounding the fire become inactive, equipment is being relocated as necessary to strengthen containment lines in other areas. Suppression Repair is becoming a focal point to fire operations as work continues to open up closed roads as soon as possible. There have been a few small fires unrelated to the Dolan fire, but near the fire area which have all been quickly contained. A high pressure system will move towards the West Coast over the Pacific Ocean, bringing moderate winds from the north gusting to 18 mph over the higher elevations and ridges. Monday the winds will shift more from the northeast, which will push the marine layer back towards the coast and offshore. This will also setup warming weather pattern mid-week and should bring temperatures back near 100 degrees in the valleys, with lower humidities throughout the region. There is no rain forecasted in the near future for the central west coast of California.

The Suppression Repair Group continued the task of repairing burned areas by clearing ash accumulations in erosion zones, and performing road repair near Anderson Peak. Repairs to fencing continued today at the Merle Ranch today to help contain the remaining livestock. The marine layer will continue in the evening and should limit fire activity on the western fire area, and in the lower portions of the Limekiln and Mill Creek drainages. The forecast earlier in the week suggested a chance for precipitation in the Central California area, however the forecast has changed with a much lower chance of measurable precipitation.

Fire conditions today remain consistent and unchanged from yesterdays containment progress. The weather conditions around the fire area continue to be moderated with continued reduction in temperatures, however heat is still showing up in new areas on the infrared camera. Air resources were used to monitor fire conditions with heavy reliance on infrared technology to search for and identify hot spots. While containment is at 98% fire crews must still pay close attention to the fire lines to quickly respond in case of any flare- ups. Although the temperatures have moderated, the fuels in the fire area are still very dry. Our aircraft resources continue to be a critical part of the plan to keep the heat pinned down until we can get firefighters inserted into the remaining areas of concern.

Helicopters were used to slow the spread of fire in unburned interior islands that continue to show smoke columns and have the potential to challenge control lines. Our aircraft resources continue to be a critical part of the plan to keep the heat pinned down until we can get firefighters inserted into the remaining areas of concern.

On the southern area of the fire handcrews are taking direct action to mop up and patrol contained areas. Flare-ups along Highway 1 may still pose a risk to commuters. The threat to communities along Hwy 101 including high value vineyards is diminishing as the northern and eastern areas of the fire increase their containment.
