Spring Creek Fire Update Friday, July 7, 2023 Rocky Mountain Area Complex Incident Management Team Two Jared Hohn, Incident Commander

Rocky Mountain Complex Incident Management Team Two will continue with aerial ignitions today on the north / northwest portion of the fire. A previous post explained the benefits of using a burnout strategy to create a wide barrier devoid of flammable material that will slow or stop the fire in the direction it's expected to move.

The number one priority on any fireline is firefighter safety. Prevention is the primary mechanism to keep firefighters safe. However, when injury or illness occurs, the Medical Unit has line paramedics and EMTs who administer initial medical care and ensure they receive, if needed, advanced medical care.
