Big Horn Park (Area A) evacuation reduced to pre-evacuation

The Grand County Sheriff has reduced the evacuation order to a pre-evacuation for the Big Horn Park subdivision effective immediately.  Any evacuated residents may return to their homes, but be vigilant and prepared if the East Troublesome Fire takes an unpredicted change. Your area is still in a pre-evacuation order. If you do not feel safe, you do not have to go home. Please do not call 9 1 1 unless you have an emergency. There is still some active fire on the ridge to the east of the subdivision, but fire and law enforcement are actively monitoring the fire behavior and conditions."

Residents and travelers can detour around the closure from Granby by traveling west on US Highway 40 for 55 miles, then turning east onto Colorado Highway 14 towards Walden. From Walden, travelers can continue further north on CO 125 into Wyoming (a previous road closure in the area was lifted on Friday). Motorists coming from the north can use the same route in reverse. Please note CO 14 continues to be closed east of Walden.

Both sides of Hwy 125 from mile post 5 to the Grand/Jackson Co line. Hwy 125 is closed. Leave now.

Stage 2 fire restrictions: No open flames, no campfires and no charcoal grills. No smoking outdoors. Do not park on grass. Make sure chains aren’t dragging. Gas camping stoves with on/off switches are OK.
