Indian School Rd Fire: estimated 130 acres, 40% contained
Location: 4 miles west of Montague in Montague County.
 
Texas A&M Forest Service dozers have nearly completed dozer line around the head of the fire. Forward progression has been stopped.

Eastern Fire PM Update 01/15/2021
Size: 87 Acres (GPS) 
Agencies: Texas A&M Forest Service, Amarillo, Randall County, Palisades and Tanglewood Fire Department. 

The Eastern Fire has had forward progression stopped and was confirmed at 87 acres. Crews are currently working to increase containment, improve existing lines, suppression and mop up of priority areas around homes. Reported by the incident commander that 1 home, 2 barns/shops and 2 outbuildings were lost. 6 barns/shops, 11 outbuildings and 15 homes were saved due to efforts of firefighters. The Eastern fire is currently 85 percent contained and showing little fire activity at this time. Focus will remain on mopping up priority areas and improving containment lines for the remainder of the operational period. There are no fire control concerns going into the next operational period and the fire will be monitored by local firefighters till there are no areas showing heat or smoke.

 The Geese Fire activity is minimal at this time. Dozers have completed creating containment line around the fire perimeter. There is some smoldering pockets within the containment lines. Crews will continue to patrol and mop up the fire for the remainder of the day.

 The Geese Fire has not progressed since last night. The fire is creeping in a Juniper/grass mix with some oak. Crew will continue to establish a containment line around the fire perimeter. Responders hope to have the fire contained by noon today before the winds pickup.

05172022 Carson RD Understory Burning in Dog Valley

As part of the Carson Ranger District’s Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest fire crews plan to conduct an understory burn in Dog Valley at Lookout Campground today, weather permitting. Reducing fuel loads and restoring ecosystem processes will make landscapes more resilient to wildfires and insects and disease while improving overall forest health. Bridgeport Ranger District fire crews are pile burning in the Twin Lakes area, 10 miles southeast of Bridgeport, California. 03072022 Carson RD Pile Burning Near Spooner Summit

The Carson Ranger District is burning piles the week of March 7 in the Clear Creek Fuels Reduction Project area two miles south of Carson City, Nevada. The burning is occurring in the Clear Creek drainage off U.S Highway 50 below Spooner Summit. Please do not call 911, local fire departments are aware of these burning activities.
