(Vehículo aéreo no tripulado).

Location: 5 miles up Lightning Creek Road on Bee Top Mountain
Start Date: 7/1/23 Cause: Lightning Size: 37 acres Containment: 16%
Total Personnel: 148 Engines: 2 Helicopters: 3 Hand Crews: 4
Yesterday, crews completed laying hose along the Lightning Creek indirect fireline, which runs northeast from the ridge to the southwest of the fire to the avalanche chute to the east of the fire. On the southwest ridge, indirect line was tied in from the river bottom to the mid-slope spike camp. Saw line was completed from the mid-ridge spike camp up to the tree line, allowing crews to dig handline and finish the indirect fireline from the river bottom to the Bee Top ridgeline.
Scooper planes and helicopters also continued to cool the interior of the fire, allowing crews to safely construct indirect fireline near the ridgetop on Bee Top Mountain. Helicopters also backhauled garbage away from the mid-ridge spike camp to clean up and mitigate bear encounters.
With the potential for severe weather coming in today, last night crews were pulled out of the spike camp midway up the ridge on Bee Top Mountain. Weather may impact fire operations today and activities will largely focus on holding and improving indirect fireline and completing the last portion of handline up to the top of the ridge if crews are safely able to do so.
Initial attack (IA) crews will continue with home assessments to ascertain preparation needs and minimize damage to structures in the Clark Fork community. The IA group will also maintain readiness to rapidly respond to new fire starts caused by lightning within the fire area.
There are some archaeological sites within the fire area that crews are taking care not to disturb. These culturally sensitive locations are areas where Native American performed ceremonial activities. Crews are also working to protect bull trout habitat, installing screens to keep bull trout from entering hose intakes.
WEATHER AND FIRE BEHAVIOR
The arrival of a cold front on Monday will bring a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Brief heavy rain, hail, and gusty outflow winds up to 55 mph are possible. Look for increasingly gusty post cold front winds from the west or southwest winds on the ridge top Monday afternoon through Monday night. A 20 percent chance of showers will linger into Tuesday.
CLOSURES AND SPECIAL MESSAGES
There are currently no road or trail closures associated with the Bee Top Fire, however road, trail, and area closures may occur if the fire reaches pre-determined decision points, creating dangerous conditions. The public is urged to use caution and check Inciweb regularly for the latest fire information before recreating in the area.

Bone Lightning Fire Update July 8
Related Incident: 2023 - Bone Lightning Fire
Publication Type: News
Following a successful day of burning yesterday, crews continued ignitions south of the fire’s origin, moving along 2N05. The upper area of the unit is pine plantation with a thick understory of white thorn and ceanothus. The lower area consists of dense mixed conifer interspersed with dead and down trees.
In other locations of the fire, crews cleaned up unburned patches along the western section of 3N01. They also mopped up in the northern section of the fire utilizing a 50-foot buffer. This included extinguishing burning material down to mineral soil, cooling ashpits which will reduce residual smoke, making the fire less likely to escape containment lines.
Fire managers utilized existing workforce already in place to prep the 2N12 road west of 3N01 by removing dead standing trees. The 2N12 road will serve as a contingency line in the event embers and/or roll outs cross the 3N01 road. If that occurs, fire managers would allow fire to burn in these units. The likeliness of this occurring in this operation is very low, due to the moisture from meadows and wet drainages at this time. However, these efforts will aid fire managers as they prepare for future prescribed fire implementation here, potentially this fall.
Bone Lightning Fire Update July 9
Related Incident: 2023 - Bone Lightning Fire
Publication Type: News
Today, fire professionals on the Bone Lightning Fire completed burning operations for this fire that has been managed for multiple resource benefits.
Crews diligently checked for any potential fire where burning material could roll out of the perimeter line at the narrow sliver of the project area between 3N01 and 2N05 on the western edge of the fire. This ensured the fire stays within the perimeter control line.
Along the northern perimeter of the fire, crews worked the handline beefing up mop up previously conducted, securing a strong fifty-foot buffer. From the handline in this northern edge of the fire down to 3N01, crews began mopping up, working towards the south.
In other areas of the fire, crews completed burning approximately 100 acres remaining from yesterday’s operation in the area, south of the fire’s origin and bordered by the 2N05 road. A column of smoke could be seen during this operation.
While resources are still available, fire fighters returned to prepare the 2N12 road west of 3N01 readying the unit for a future prescribed burn, possibly this fall.
With the successful completion of burning today, the incident will be releasing some resources. However, fire crews will still remain on the fire for at least a week, patrolling and conducting mop up, ensuring the fire remains in its current footprint. The Bone Lightning Fire is a naturally caused wildfire being managed for multiple benefits, contributing to a more resilient landscape.

Confinamiento: 46%
Personal Total: 497
Hand Crews: 3 + a district module Engines: 2 Other: Faller Module, Water Tender, Ambulance
A Northern Idaho Type 3 team, Incident Commander John Heyn (trainee Waylon Meek), took command of the Consalus Fire at 6:00 AM on Sunday, July 9.
Multiple hand crews, heavy equipment, and aircraft are engaged in fire suppression. Dozer line has been completed on the west and north sides. Crews are laying hose and installing water tanks with pumps along these lines. Heavy equipment operators completed a fuel break to the northeast of the fire along Forest Service Road (FSR) #1108. They will continue constructing a fireline east of the fire along a ridgeline and on the southwest side of the fire. Firefighters have laid hose on a portion of the west perimeter to use water and hand tools to cool the fire's edge, called mopping up. Fire personnel continue scouting for opportunities to construct lines around the southeast.
Helicopters and scooper planes dropped water yesterday to cool the fire's edge, allowing firefighters to continue safely engaging. Air resources will continue to support the crews on the ground with water drops as needed.
Standing dead trees (snags) continue to be an issue for firefighter safety. Crews cannot engage where the risk of falling trees is significant. A faller module of highly trained sawyers will begin to clear snags in some areas to make it safer for firefighters to continue to work.
WEATHER AND FIRE BEHAVIOR
Today’s weather brings a slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 11:00 AM. Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds. High temperatures will be near 86, with light and variable winds southwest 5 to 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 40% with rainfall amounts of less than a tenth inch, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
CLOSURES AND SPECIAL MESSAGES
There is a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) over the fire area. For the safety of aerial resources and firefighters on the ground, please do not fly unmanned aircraft (drones) in the fire vicinity. If you fly, we can't.
While the following roads are not yet closed, please avoid them for firefighter and public safety. FSR #1108 from the junction with FSR #333 to the junction with FSR #659. Storage Fire Daily Update
Monday, July 10, 2023
Size: 975 acres
Containment: 90%
Start Date: June 28, 2023
Cause: Under Investigation, Human Caused
The Storage Fire, burning south of Possum Kingdom Lake and 9 miles west of Palo Pinto in Palo Pinto County, started on June 28, 2023. The fire is suspected to be human caused and is under investigation. The fire is burning in brush, grass and mesquite mix, and was initially contained on July 4th, 2023. The fire has spotted out of containment lines and began growing again on July 7th, 2023.
Evacuations: There are currently no evacuations in place for the Storage Fire.
Two buildings were damaged by this fire, but no injuries have been reported.
Yesterday: Fire personnel found several areas of heat yesterday and worked to put out each of them as they hiked around the entire fire. The burn scar did receive some rain yesterday and this was beneficial in reducing the overall remaining burning areas. Crews were on the line until late evening and found a few heats but felt confident that they could leave the fire for the evening.
Today: Firefighters are hiking around the entire perimeter of the fire today working to make sure there are no remaining threats of additional growth elsewhere along the line. As resources continue to monitor and patrol today, they will be developing a plan for making sure that this fire is still monitored moving forward while reducing the overall number of resources on scene. Making sure that this fire no longer presents any concern to the local communities is the most important aspect of this planning process.
Weather and Fire Behavior: Temperatures will be higher today and cause concern for fire crews working outdoors today. Winds will be low and relative humidity will be higher today helping to reduce fire behavior. There is no expectation of rain today, but there is a chance for some storms tonight with lightning and gusty winds.
