Fire containment is 25%, 23,475 acres. Current fire behavior is light to moderate with increasing behavior, group tree torching, and spotting due to daytime heating. Plans for the rest of the day continue to be reinforcing containment lines with retardant drops from aviation resources, line construction with dozers, and patrolling and holding existing lines.

Yesterday’s mission of improving, patrolling, and holding containment lines was successful. As of end of shift Thursday, no additional structures were lost and no injuries were reported.
Aviation support will continue to be utilized in addition to the dozers, engines, and firefighters on the ground. Crews will continue to construct containment lines where possible.
There is a red flag warning in effect today due to shifting winds from a cold front moving into the area after noon.
Acreage will be updated when mapping flight is complete.

Fire containment is 20%, 21, 043 acres. Acreage change is due to more accurate mapping. Yesterday’s mapping flight was estimated because of a lack of visibility through thick smoke and intense fire behavior.
Potential for fire growth today is high due to forecasted weather conditions.

The plan for today is to continue to hold, improve, mop up, and patrol containment lines. 2 heavy air tankers will continue to make retardant drops and 1 helicopter will make water drops where needed on the fire.
Overnight resources were successful at holding the containment lines. Multiple direct saves on structures were made during yesterday's shift. No additional structures were lost overnight.
Updated acreage will come after mapping flight is complete.

Fire containment is 15%, 23,922 acres. The increase in acreage is due to yesterday's fire growth and firing operations conducted to strengthen the containment lines. Fire behavior is very active with group torching in juniper and spotting. The fire continues to have high potential for growth. Crews continue to build direct fire line where possible and improve indirect lines to prepare for burn out operations when conditions allow it.

Critical fire weather conditions are forecasted to develop across the area this afternoon. Extreme fire behavior is expected through the afternoon.
