Aspectos destacados: El Equipo de Manejo de Incidentes Tipo 3 de la Zona Sureste transferirá el mando del Incendio Alamo de regreso al Bosque Nacional Coronado a las 6:00 am el sábado 26 de junio de 2021. El Incendio Alamo  ahora será manejado por un Comandante de Incidentes Tipo 4 local Jorge Amaya. El fuego no ha mostrado crecimiento en los últimos días y la contención ha aumentado al 90% gracias al arduo trabajo de los bomberos. Los equipos han tenido mucho cuidado para mitigar las amenazas potenciales a los recursos culturales, las estructuras y los recursos naturales, como las especies amenazadas y en peligro de extinción.

Esta será la actualización final a menos que ocurran eventos importantes.

Alamo Fire – June 25, 2021 Final Update

Highlights: The Southeast Zone Type 3 Incident Management Team will transfer command of the Alamo Fire back to the Coronado National Forest at 6:00 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2021. The Alamo Fire will now be managed by a local Type 4 Incident Commander Jorge Amaya. The fire has shown no growth over the past few days and containment has increased to 90% thanks to the hard work of the firefighters. Crews have taken great care to mitigate potential threats to cultural resources, structures, and natural resources such as threatened and endangered species.

This will be the final update unless significant events occur.

Operations: As command of the fire transfers back to the local agencies, assigned fire resources will remain until full suppression is achieved.  Smoke may be observed from smoldering unburned fuels remaining within the interior of the fire perimeter. Public and firefighter safety continues to be the top priority for the incident.

Resources assigned include: 1 Crew, 6 engines, 2 Helicopters, and miscellaneous overhead.

Operations in Mexico: Today, the nine CONAFOR Bomberos continued to work the west portion of the fire in Mexico. Sedenas hiked from their spike camp at Ranch Los Adobe to the southwest corner of the fire.  Once there, they broke into two groups: one working eastward and the other working the southwest corner towards the CONAFOR Bomberos.

Resources assigned to the fire in Mexico: 27 Sedena, 15 Conafor, and 18 Nogales Rural Brigade. 

Weather:  The weekend is predicted to hot and dry. Deeper.  Moisture is predicted to move into the area Sunday night into early next week setting the stage for daily chances of wetting rain most of the week.

Restrictions:  The Temporary Flight Restriction were lifted at 5:00 PM today, Friday, June 25, 2021. Stage 2 fire restrictions are currently in effect in southeastern Arizona.  Una colaboración binacional monumental entre los Estados Unidos y México, facilitada por la Oficina de Aduanas y Protección Fronteriza (CBP) de los Estados Unidos, el Bosque Nacional Coronado, los Servicios de Manejo de Emergencias del Condado de Santa Cruz, el Manejo de Emergencias del Estado de Sonora y la Comisión Nacional Forestal de México (Conafor) , para transportar bomberos  de Conafor a los EE. UU. para apoyar los esfuerzos de extinción de incendios en to Incendio Alamo. Nueve bomberos de Conafor de Durango, México que han estado combatiendo el incendio en el flanco este de Alamo en México pasaron por el Puerto de Entrada Dennis DeConcini con la ayuda de CBP y fueron transportados al flanco oeste del Alamo Fire en los EE. UU. Una vez en su lugar, los bomberos de la Conafor caminaron hacia la parte suroeste del cruce de fuego de regreso a México. United States and Mexico Work together on the Alamo Fire  

Alamo Fire – June 24, 2021 Daily Update

Highlights: A monumental binational collaboration between the United States and Mexico occurred today, facilitated by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) , Coronado National Forest, Santa Cruz County Emergency Management Services, Sonora State Emergency Management , and National Forestry Commission of Mexico (Conafor), to transport Conafor bomberos (firefighters) into the U.S. to support the fire suppression efforts on the Alamo Fire.  Nine Conafor bomberos from Durango, Mexico that have been fighting the fire on the east flank of the Alamo Fire in Mexico passed through the Dennis DeConcino Port of Entry with the aid of CBP and were transported to the west flank of the Alamo Fire in the U.S.  Once in place, the Conafor bomberos hiked into the southwest portion of the fire crossing back into Mexico.  This was the safest and most direct access for the Conafor bomberos to enter the southside of the fire. These skilled firefighters will be working to stop the fires forward progress in Mexico and from entering the U.S.  

Operations: Firefighters continued mop up, monitor, and patrol containment lines around the fire perimeter.  Resources began suppression repair of dozer lines, which consists of installing water bars for erosion control and pulling in the berms.

Resources assigned include: 1 Crew, 6 engines, 2 Helicopters, 1 dozer, 1 grader, 2 water tenders, and miscellaneous overhead.

No structures are threatened or have been damaged. There are currently no closures or evacuations.

Fire Activity:  Minimal fire activity occurred today on the Alamo Fire. Some smoke may be observed from some minor torching and smoldering of the fuels remaining inside the green islands left within the fire perimeter.

Weather:  No precipitation is expected Friday and Saturday. West winds are expected during the afternoon with gusts to 20 mph.

Restrictions:  A Temporary Flight Restriction is in place over the Alamo Fire to ensure safe air operations. Currently, Stage 2 fire restrictions are currently in effect in southeastern Arizona. Operations: Today, firefighters worked to mop up and secure containment lines around the fire perimeter. On the southwest side of fire along the Summit Motorway, engine crews are monitoring the fire burning across the border in Mexico.  Resources assigned include: 1 Crew, 8 engines, 2 Helicopters, 1 dozer, 1 grader, 2 water tenders, and miscellaneous overhead.

No structures are threatened or have been damaged. There are currently no closures or evacuations.

Operations in Mexico: Resources assigned to the fire in Mexico: 27 Sedena, 15 Conafor, and 18 Nogales Rural Brigade.  They are working to engage the westside of the fire.

Fire Activity:  Minimal fire activity occurred today on the Alamo Fire. Some smoke may be observed from some minor torching of the fuels remaining inside the green islands left within the fire perimeter.

Weather:  The fire received some moisture this afternoon. A drying and warming trend is predicted to begin Thursday with no expectation of showers and thunderstorms. Afternoon winds remain out of the west with gusts up to around 20 mph.

OBJETIVOS:  El objetivo de la gerencia es la suprecion total, mientras se enfoca en la seguridad publica y de los bomberos con enfasis en proteger la infrastuctura existente y la propiedad privada , asi como los recusrsos y los valores culturales significativos.  

OPERACIONES:  Hoy, los recursos completaron las operaciones de contrafuegos en los canones de Walker, Pena Blanca, y Alamo.   Hacia el final del dia, el canon de Walker tuvo algunos focos secundarios del canon.   Los bomberos y los recursos aeros pudieron contener el incendio en 4 acres.   En el lado oeste los equipos continuaron monitoreando la propagacion del fuego en Mexico que aun amenaza el lado estadounidense, ajunto a Summit Motorway.   Durante el dia el fuego cruzo alos Estados Unidos y los bomberos pudieron detener el avance del fuego. 

Los recursos asignados incluyen

10 Carros motobomba

2 Helicopteros

1 retroexcavadora

2 pipas de agua

y varias personas en general.  Ninguna estractura esta amenazada o danada.   Actualmente no hay cierres in evacuaciones.

Han comenzado a limpiar la parte este del fuego en Mexico y se esta moviendo hacia el oeste para controlar el borde del fuego.   Los recursos de ambos Nogales estan trabajando juntos para contener el fuego.  

ACTIVIDAD del FUEGO:  El incendio Alamo arde con una intensidad baja a moderna en un patron en forma de mosaico.   Actualmente el humo se esta dispersando a unas pocal millas del incendio, pero puede ver un aumento en humo durante los proximos dias.

CLIMA:  Se espera una probabilidad de lluvias y tormentas electricas para esta noche hasta el MIercoles , es possible que las precipitaciones mas ligeras y las amenazas principales sean los vientos y los relampagos.   Las posibilidades de lluvia disminuyen el Miercoles por la noche y se espera que el Jueves este seco.   La humedad adicional dara lugar a valores de HR mas altos durante el dia y durante la noche.  Los vientos seran principalmente de 6 a 11 mph con rafagos de 20 mph cada tarde. 

RESTRICCION:  Temporal de vuelo (TFR) Existe una resticion temporal de vuelo (TFR) sobre el incedio de Alamo.  Es responsabilidad de cualquier piloto hacer referencia a este TFR antes de planificar su vuelo.  ESTE TFR incluye drones.   Los incendios Forestales son una zona prohibidad para los drones.  Si vuelan los drones, NOSOTROS NO PODEMOS!   Los sistemas de aeronaves no tripuladas tambien conocidos como drones cerca de incendios forestales podrian causar lesiones o la muerte a bomberos de una collision.   EL TFR tambien se aplica al funcionamiento de drones.  Si se detecta algun drone sobre el incendio todo tipo de aeronaves tendran que ser detinido en tierra hasta que el drone se haya ido de la area.   Esto podria descapacitar el trabajo de los bomberos para proteger vidas, propiedad recurso naturales, y podria resultar en el crecimiento de el incendio.   Para mas informacion visite

Alamo Fire – June 22, 2021 Daily Update

Location: 10 miles southwest of Nogales, AZ

Objectives: The management objective is full suppression while focusing on public and firefighter safety with an emphasis on protecting existing infrastructure and private property, as well as significant resource and cultural values.

Operations: Today, resources completed burnout operations in Walker, Peña Blanca, and Alamo Canyons. Towards the end of the afternoon, Walker Canyon did experience a spot fire on the eastern side of the canyon.  Firefighters and air resources were able to contain the spot fire at 4 acres. On the westside, crews continued monitoring the fire spread occurring in Mexico that still threatens the US side adjacent to Summit Motorway.  During the day, the fire crossed over to the US, and firefighters and air resources were able to stop the fire’s forward progress. Resources assigned include: 1 Crew, 10 engines, 2 Helicopters, 1 dozer, 1 grader, 2 water tenders, and miscellaneous overhead.

No structures are threatened or have been damaged. There are currently no closures or evacuations.

Operations in Mexico: Resources assigned to the fire in Mexico: 27 Sedena, 15 Conafor, and 18 Nogales Rural Brigade.  They have started mop up on the eastern portion of the fire in Mexico and are moving westerly to gain control of the fires edge.  The fire resources from both countries are working together to contain the fire.

Fire Activity:  The Alamo Fire is burning with low to moderate intensity in a mosaic pattern. Currently, smoke is dissipating within a few miles of the incident, but there may be an increase in smoke production over the next couple of days.

Weather:  A chance for showers and thunderstorms are predicted for tonight into Wednesday. Rainfall will likely be on the lighter side with the main threats being gusty winds and lightning. Rain chances diminish Wednesday night, and Thursday is expected to be dry. The extra moisture will lead to higher RH values during the day and very good overnight recoveries. Winds will mainly be 6 to 11 mph with gusts to 20 mph each afternoon

Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR): A Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) is in place over the Alamo Fire. It is the responsibility of any pilot to reference this TFR before planning their flight. This TFR includes drones.

Wildfires are a No Drone Zone. If you fly, we can’t.  Flying Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), also known as drones, near wildfires could cause injury or death to firefighters as a result of an aircraft collision. The TFR also applies to the operation of drones. If an un-permitted drone is spotted over a fire, any aircraft working on the fire will be grounded until the drone has left the area or is accounted for. This hampers firefighters' ability to protect lives, property, and natural cultural resources and could result in fires growing larger.
