Earlier this afternoon a wildfire has started South of Stinnett in Hutchinson County. Multiple resources have responded for initial attack on the fire including Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS), Stinnett VFD, Crutch VFD, Fritch VFD, Borger FD, Potter County FD, Skellytown VFD, Pantex and National Parks Service (NPS). Crews are working on containing the fire, but due to high winds forward progression has been made difficult. High winds are expected to be in place through the night and into tomorrow morning. 

Evacuations and Closures 
Highway 136 has been closed due to the wildfire and residents of Scotts Acres Subdivision in Stinnett, Texas are being evacuated.

 Beaver Pond Fire in Nacogdoches County is now 85% contained and gps’d at 420 acres.  Crews are continuing mop up operations and there are no unmet needs.

Texas A&M Forest Service firefighters returned to the fire at 0900 on 1/7/2021 to continue fire containment and mop-up. Their is currently low fire behavior, and crews have the fire approximately 40% contained.
No homes or structures  have been lost, and their are currently no homes or structures threatened.

Cause: Under Investigation 

State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS), Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS), and local fire departments are on scene on the North 207 Fire. Forward progression has been stopped by fire department efforts and crews are continuing to construct control line, patrol, and provide point protection. Aircraft have been ordered for December 16, 2021 to provide better mapping and situational awareness.

Extreme winds that were scheduled for today have decreased.

A Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) has been approved.

At approximately 3:0pm, Evacuations for the community of Skellytown were ordered. An estimated 500 residents were evacuated. Evacuation orders for Skellytown have been lifted since then.

Belcher Complex Update December 16 2021

State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) returned to the Belcher Complex Fire early this morning and continued to improve, patrol, and mop-up control lines. Forecast showed high overnight humidity recovery. Light, shifting winds are expected today. Resources are ready to respond to any initial attack if the need arises.
