Cause: Under investigation
Fire crews are currently suppressing the Blowing Basin Fire, a new start near the Eastland Complex. Resources are on scene working to contain this fire by creating dozer lines around the fire. Aerial resources and engines were able to make good progress on the flanks of this fire and allow dozers to begin creating containment lines. Crews are continuing to contain this fire and respond to other new starts in the area.

Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) and local fire departments are working to construct containment line with heavy equipment and putting out hot spots along the perimeter of this fire. No homes are threatened at this time and fire behavior is minimal.
Additional fires nearby are being evaluated in conjunction with the Realitos fire to determine if additional action is necessary.
Winds will be generally light this evening, with RH values approaching 50%. Tomorrow afternoon has a potential of elevated fire weather conditions, with moderate southeast winds and RH values around 15%.

Crews are conducting a burnout to secure roads along the eastern portion of this fire. Additionally, air resources and heavy equipment are working to improve containment lines. There are reported structures lost but none confirmed at this time. An additional fire nearby was reported by Air Attack but has been controlled.

No growth or significant activity was observed yesterday, on any of the seven fires making up the Eastland Complex. Several resources were released to active fires elsewhere in the state. Tomorrow at 2:00 pm. fire officials plan to transition the Eastland Complex Fire from the Southern Area Gray Team to local jurisdiction

Kidd Fire: 42,333 acres, 100% contained (Carbon, Kokomo, and Gorman). A total of 142 structures confirmed lost, with no differentiation between homes and outbuildings.
Wheat Field Fire: 7,268 acres, 100% contained (NW of Rising Star). A total of 7 structures confirmed lost, with no differentiation between homes and outbuildings.
Oak Mott Fire: 4,031 acres, 100% contained (SE of Rising Star). A total of 6 structures confirmed lost, with no differentiation between homes and outbuildings.
Walling Fire: 383 acres, 100% contained (W of Nimrod).
Mangum Fire: 11 acres, 100% contained

Yesterday, fire personnel found and extinguished a few hotspots on the Oak Mott Fire, and hay bales continue smoldering on the Kidd Fire. The fire threat will increase today with gusty west-northwest winds. Dry conditions are expected Thursday through the weekend and will continue to support grass fire spread. Moisture and rain chances will increase again early next week.

Today we have Very High fire danger. Please prevent any sparks from occurring.
Cause: Under InvestigationYesterday, good progress was made by crews to find and extinguish interior pockets of heat. Containment has increased on the Kidd Fire and there was minimal fire activity around the perimeters of the surrounding fires. Today, there will be more moisture due to potential rain and thunderstorms. Despite the rain, winds will persist throughout the week and fire danger will remain high. Work will continue along the perimeter of the fires and firefighters will make the most of the weather to further containment.

Cause: Under Investigation
Crews monitored the Eastland Complex fires yesterday and saw no significant activity. A few resources were released from the complex and were reassigned to the Ramsey Fire in Brown County and the Das Goat fire in Medina County. Today winds should be erratic and shift directions as a front passes through the region, bringing the potential for light moisture on Tuesday. Local fire departments, Texas A&M Forest Service, and the Southern Area Gray Team are working together to reach 100% containment of the complex as soon as possible.
