Road Closures and Evacuations: Homes along 1467 North Blanket have been evacuated, 1467 is currently closed to the public.
Texas A&M Forest Service has been requested back out to the Ramsey Fire and is working in unified command with local responders and other state resources to contain a rapidly growing wildfire breakout of the initial containment line that was already in place.
Due to high temperatures and low RH, fire activity is extreme causing spotting and a smoke column visible from Brownwood and surrounding areas.
Aviation resources had been used to assist with cooling hotspots and slowing growth of the wildfire as well, but have been released for the night.

Ramsey fire was at 100% containment, but due to dry conditions, unburnt pockets of fuel and drainages close to the containment line have started to show signs of activity. Crews have returned to the fire to continue to work areas of concern, conducting mop up operations, digging hand line and using aviation to perform bucket drops over the hot spots.

Ramsey fire continued to show little activity through the night, one area of concern was down in a creak bottom where heavy fuel loading is holding heat, but a helicopter was able to make bucket drops in the morning cooling down those areas. Crews plan to staff fire until the end of the operational shift today and will turn fire back over to the local responders if everything continues to go as planned.

Fire resources worked to continue containment line around the fire, a few burnout operations took place to remove fuel from unburnt pockets and improve the line. Crews continued to mop up hot spots and aviation was used to assist with IR and mapping.
Crews will return tomorrow to patrol and mop up remaining hot spots, fire was showing moderate activity early this morning, but by the afternoon had very little.

Road Closures and Evacuations: All Evacuations have been lifted and roadways are open.
Fire resources are currently on scene and working to patrol the fire area. Very little precipitation was reported over the fire and activity is starting to pick up due to increased winds.
Crews have been making good progress with constructing line around the fire and all evacuations have been lifted due to forward progression being slowed down. Winds are a concern today and later this week, but the IC is reporting minimal activity at this time.

Crews where able to get the Wells 2 fire contained on March 20th at 11:30 PM, locals continued to patrol and mop up hot spots through the night. US HWY was re opened after being shut down due to impending wildfire. Evacuations did take place, but residents have been allowed to return. No structures reported lost.

At 1:30 pm a wildfire started approximately 15 miles NE of Stephenville. Hood County, Erath County, Parker County and Texas A&M Forest Service fire resources have been working in unified command on the fire. Engines and heavy equipment have started line construction around both flanks of the fire to better containment. Aviation resources were also being utilized for containment and structure protection.
Weather poses concerns due to low relative humidity values, high winds and warm temperatures until 10 pm this evening. Tune in to local weather forecast for weather updates.
Evacuations/Closures
Currently there are evacuations for the town of Lipan and surrounding residents along the Hood/Erath county lines. Shelters have been set up at the following locations: Hood County YMCA at 1475 James, First Christian at 2109 W US 377, Granbury Methodist at 301 NE Loop 567, Church of Latter Day Saints at 1226 Ross Lane
Currently Roads are closed at Tolar Highway and Campbell Rd, along with Highway 377 at towns of Bluff Dale and Tolar.

Crews have made significant progress with the help of aviation and heavy equipment. Burn out operations were conducted to remove unburned fuel between the containment line and fire edge. Ground resources will continue to construct containment line and mop up hot spots close to the fire edge.

Cause: Under Investigation
Good rain was observed on the Big L fire which helped with the mop up process. elevated winds were observed yesterday, but created no issues on the fire. The mineral Wells Task Force along with a Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) strike team will continue to patrol and mop up the fire.
No weather or operational concerns are perceived.
