Point of origin of the Horse River Fire, which is a tree that was struck by lightning.
This map shows the current perimeter and containment of the Horse River fire 14 miles NNE of Ely Minnesota. As of May 31, the fire has burned approximately 15 acres. The National Incident Management Organization (NIMO) Team is coordinating suppression efforts and public safety operations for this fire in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
