 Prescribed Burn Treatments Planned for Tres Rios and Uncompahgre Field Offices  
 Prescribed burning planned in Disappointment Valley east of Egnar and West Dolores Rim east of Dove Creek
March 21, 2022 - The West Dolores Rim area had great conditions today to allow firefighters to burn 2,000 piles, completing 100 acres of treatment on Tres Rios Field Office BLM-administered lands. Light smoke might be visible east of Hwy 141 near Egnar, CO.
March 21, 2022 - BLM Southwest District will continue prescribed pile burning on the Tres Rios Field Office BLM-administered lands in the West Dolores Rim area.
March 11, 2022 - Another great day of prescribed pile burning on Tres Rios Field Office BLM-administered lands. Firefighters were able to burn 50 piles, treating 5 acres on the Dry Creek Basin unit and 1,000 piles, treating 45 acres on the West Dolores Rim unit. Light smoke might be visible near these areas.
March 11, 2022:  BLM Southwest District will continue prescribed pile burning on the Tres Rios Field Office BLM-administered lands in the West Dolores Rim and Dry Creek Basin areas if conditions are favorable.The West Dolores Rim project area is located approx. 2.5 miles east of Egnar, CO and Highway 141, and Dry Creek Basin project is located near U29 Rd north of Highway 141 approx. 15 miles southwest of Norwood, CO. Smoke maybe visible near these areas.
 The West Dolores Rim area had great conditions today to allow firefighters to burn 1,000 piles, completing 75 acres of treatment on Tres Rios Field Office BLM-administered lands. Light smoke might be visible east of Hwy 141 near Egnar, CO.
BLM Southwest District loves the recent snow that gives us an opportunity to continue prescribed pile burning today on the Tres Rios Field Office BLM-administered lands in the West Dolores Rim area.The project area is located approx. 2.5 miles east of Egnar, CO and Highway 141. If conditions are favorable, piles of pinyon pine and juniper debris that were removed to improve sage grouse habitat will be burned. Smoke maybe visible from Hwy 141 and Egnar, CO.
The new snow created favorable conditions today allowing firefighters to burn 250 piles at Summit Lake area on Tres Rios Field Office BLM-administered lands and 15 piles at Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area on Uncompahgre Field Office BLM-administered lands. Light smoke might be visible near these areas.
 The recent snowstorm is helping the BLM Southwest District to conduct pile burning on the Tres Rios and Uncompahgre Field Offices BLM-administered lands.
