The recent snowstorm is helping the BLM Southwest District to conduct pile burning on the Tres Rios and Uncompahgre Field Offices BLM-administered lands.
Prescribed pile burning will take place if conditions are favorable in the Summit Lake area located near Hwy 184, approx. 6 miles northwest of Mancos, CO; and Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area located approx. 2 miles east of Austin, CO and 1 mile south of Hwy 92 on the BLM-administered lands. Smoke maybe visible near those locations.
