Anderson Complex crews eliminate threat to more than a third of structures More than a third of the structures that were initially threatened by fires in the Anderson Complex are no longer at risk thanks to hard work by firefighters and more favorable weather. Crews remain fully committed to protecting the remaining structures and allotments that are still threatened by fire.
Firefighters assigned to the Anderson Complex in the Anderson-Clear area worked Saturday to protect structures and allotments near the Teklanika River Fire (#257), which is now estimated at 3,000 acres. The primary areas of focus were protecting sites on both sides of the Teklanika River and assessing protection needs in the city of Anderson.
Fire officials to host community meeting for Anderson Complex   Great Basin Team 3 will host a community meeting tonight, Aug. 2, at 8 p.m. at the Anderson Fire Station, 911 D Street, to provide an update about the fires in the Anderson Complex. The meeting will also be streamed live on the Alaska Division of Forestry & Fire Protection Facebook page for those who cannot attend in person. The meeting is expected to last about an hour and will include time for questions from community members.
