The Apple Tree Fire is located on the Sacramento Ranger District of the Lincoln National Forest 6 miles north of Timberon, NM, near the Sacramento Lookout Tower. Fire managers are using a confine and contain management strategy using existing roads and trails in the area as well as constructed fireline. A confine-and-contain strategy under the current conditions, allows fire to move naturally across the landscape, providing ecological benefits to plants and wildlife.
