Announcements

The area, road, and trail closures for the Wapiti, Frog, and Corral fires have been rescinded, and the areas are now open to public use. The public is encouraged to use caution when entering the fire scarred areas because there is still the possibility of hazard trees, ash pits, stump holes, and debris slides.
Firewood is still available in Iron Creek . The area is open to firewood gatherer's with a valid U.S. Forest Service-Sawtooth National Forest firewood permit AND an exemption letter.For questions on firewood collection on the Sawtooth National Forest, please contact the Stanley Ranger Station at 208.774.3000.

Public Information Officers from the Wapiti Fire Information Section will be at the Lowman Mercantile (7263 ID-21, Lowman, ID 83637) today from 3-5pm! Please come visit and ask any questions.
A community meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Lowman Fire Station, 8000 ID-21, Lowman, Idaho. The event will be livestreamed on the Wapiti Facebook page If internet connectivity allows. If not, the recording will be posted later to the Facebook page. 
The Custer County Sheriff announced that Zone 1 will move to the SET stage as of 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024.
A Community Meeting will be held  at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 5 at the Stanley Community Building, 500 Eva Falls Avenue, Stanley, Idaho. The event will be livestreamed on the Wapiti Facebook page and the recording posted later to the Wapiti Facebook page.
