Yesterday’s fire weather with increased wind speeds, high temperatures, and low humidity tested the work completed on the fire thus far. Crews continued to mop up on control lines, suppressing areas with heat and mitigating large accumulations or concentrations of fuels. Handcrews were beneficial in mitigating a persistent problem on the southwest corner of the fire.
Today, firefighters will continue to construct and improve containment lines around the fire. They will mop up and work hotspots as needed.
Fire Weather: Today will be mostly sunny and hot with no rain. Winds could gust to 25 mph this afternoon, especially over exposed terrain.
