CURRENT SITUATION
The Central Utah Type 3 Incident Management Team took command of the fire at 06:00 this morning.
Yesterday, fire activity increased substantially experiencing short crown runs, torching and spotting fire behavior. The fire saw a large increase in size due to poor overnight humidity recoveries and increased wind speeds throughout the day.
Similar weather concerns such as high wind speeds and chances of thunderstorm activity in the area increase potential for more fire growth. Monsoonal moisture is expected throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend. Today, firefighters are scouting for areas to begin implementing direct and/or indirect fireline - such as dozer line, hand line and use of natural barriers that will provide the greatest opportunity to work towards containment of the fire safely and effectively.
