Size: 2,300 acres
Containment: 65%
Date Started: December 10, 2021
Cause: Unknown, human caused

State resources from Texas A&M Forest Service (TAMFS) and Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) returned to the Electra Complex Fire early this morning to continue to construct control line, patrol, and mop-up. An aircraft flew over the fire this morning to provide situational awareness. Light, shifting winds are expected today. Winds are expected to be gusty again by Sunday afternoon. Drought conditions, low relative humidity, and gusty winds combine to keep fire danger at moderate levels.

Evacuations and Closures

One residential street was evacuated last night but were allowed to return to their homes last evening. Multiple local roads and Highway 287 were also closed for a short period of time but were reopened on December 10.

Damages and Injuries

At this point, no injuries from either the public or first responders have been reported. The railroad company was out early this morning inspecting damage and preparing to repair tracks which were damaged. Early reports on damaged structures include one residential structure which was destroyed, a second residential structure which was damaged, and light damage to the local agricultural barn.
