In conjunction with the Northwest Fire Team 12 and CFPA, the Curry County Sheriff is removing the Level One Fire Evacuation Zone around the Anvil Fire east of Port Orford by 3:00pm today. Due to the end of fire season and the weather, we all feel comfortable with removing the fire evacuation zone.

Even though fire season is over, we ask that our community members stay informed and careful with controlled brush burns. This has been a very long fire season and we have had to deal with several fires in our county. Much thanks to all the Incident Management Teams, local and distant fire fighters, CFPA and our local timber owners of private timber and tribal lands. We all owe you all a great deal of thanks for fighting these fires and keeping our residents and their property safe.
