There was no growth on the fire overnight and containment increased by 5%. Firefighters continue their complex operation in the Devil’s Gulch area on the northeast side of the fire, building and securing control lines in incredibly steep and rugged terrain. Temperatures are expected to drop, and humidity should increase today. Work will continue to address hazards and restore infrastructure within the fire perimeter. Damage inspections are still underway.
PG&E Oak Fire Event Overview on 7-31-22, 6:00 am As of 6 a.m. Sunday July 31st, there are approximately 455 customers without power. Power has been restored to more than 2,750 customers since beginning of the event. The 455 who remain without power are largely in areas served by infrastructure sustained direct damage from the fire. There is extensive damage to PG&E poles and other equipment along the corridors of Triangle Road, Darrah Road and Jerseydale Road. We have identified more than 250 poles that will have to be replaced, along with wire and other equipment. PG&E has approximately 720 personnel working on restoration in response to the Oak Fire in those areas. Restoration will occur at different times based on the location and the amount of damage in each area. PG&E has traffic control in place to protect residents and our employees as this work is completed. We appreciate your patience as we work to restore service to your community.
