Mariposa County has organized a Local Assistance Center (LAC) for any community member who has been directly impacted by the Oak Fire. The Local Assistance Center will be open August 1-3 from 9: 00 am – 7:00 pm at the Mariposa County High School gym (5074 Old Hwy Rd, Mariposa).
Staff will be on site to help you connect with services and resources including:
- The Department of Insurance will be there to help with any delays, additional living expenses, under insurance disputes, and more.
- The DMV will be there to answer questions and help replace documents like drivers’ licenses, ID cards, registration certificated, and certificates of title.
- The Employment Development Department (EDD) will be there to connect people with unemployment insurance payments and can help connect people with thousands of available jobs.
- The Franchise Tax Board will be there to give guidance on obtaining tax relief for disaster casualty losses.
- The Department of Public Health-Vital Records (CDPH) and the Mariposa County Assessor/Recorder will be there to help people who have lost vital records such as birth, death, and marriage certificates).
- California Veterans Affairs (CalVet) will be there to support Veterans who have suffered losses.
- The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) will be there to assist with inspection of damaged mobile homes, manufactured housing and answer questions about repairs and more.
- The Contractors State License Board will be there to help provide information about hiring a contractor and more.
- Additional resources will include information on livestock and large animals, building and planning, CalFresh food options, debris and property clean up and more.
