Arrowhead Hotshot crew members were staggered around the hand line watching the progress of the prescribed fire. Some were using hand tools to scrape away any unburned fuel near the line, while others were using drip torches to ignite the surrounding vegetation.

Crew members kept a close eye on the weather conditions, making sure the wind didn't shift and push the fire in an unexpected direction.
