Update for Swawilla and Bridge Creek Fires Evacuation areas have changed. Please see the map for updated evacuation areas. Please contact the Colville Confederated Tribes EOC for evacuation questions – (509)634-7350. The Bridge Creek Road is now open.  See chart for remaining closures.

Update for Swawilla and Bridge Creek Fires 
 In addition to the Keller area Level 3 evacuations put into effect on Wednesday July 24 at 7:30 PM, the evacuation ordered by the Colville Tribes Office of Emergency Management, for the area near Buffalo Lake and McGinnis Lake,  changed to a Level 3 Evacuation (GO) also Wednesday July 24 at 7:30 PM .  
July 24, 2024 2:50pm EVACUATION LEVEL 3 - PETER DAN ROAD, BUFFALO LAKE, MCGINNIS LAKE REYNOLDS RESORT, BELVEDERE AND SEATONS GROVE - The Confederated Colville Tribes Office of Emergency Management has elevated the area of Peter Dan Road, Buffalo Lake, McGinnis Lake Reynolds Resort, Belvedere and Seatons Grove to a Level 3 Evacuation. THIS MEANS YOU SHOULD EVACUATE NOW.

News Release – July 23, 2024 Swawilla and Owhi FiresThe Swawilla Fire burned to the Peter Dan/Manilla Road and burned over the road to the east of the summit. It is moving northwest towards State Hwy 21.  Monday, the fire burned into the powerlines along Manilla Road, forcing the power company to shut down power for firefighter safety. This affected the community of Keller. As of Tuesday morning, the power is back on in Keller.

Swawilla and Owhi FiresUpdate July 22, 2024Northern Rockies Complex Incident Management Team 6 assumed command of the Swawilla, Owhi and Bridge Cr. fires on July 22nd, working with the Colville Agency of Confederated Tribes and Department of Natural Resources in fire suppression efforts. Team 6 deeply appreciates the great work accomplished over the last few days by Northeast Washington Incident Management Team.The Swawilla Fire was initiated by lightning on July 17th, 2024. It is located 9 miles south of Keller. Owhi fire (88 acres) is currently in patrol status.
