Size: 227 acresContainment: 100%Cause: Hold Over LightningStart Date: July 24, 2022 Yesterday, crews "mopped up" hot spots on the fire's edge and monitored fire activity. Crews continued to patrol the fire area until about 6pm last night, at which point fire personnel determined the fire was 100% contained. This will be the final update for the Escalera Fire.

Size: 227 acresContainment: 92%Cause: Hold Over LightningStart Date: July 24, 2022 Crews were able to construct dozer line around the fire's perimeter yesterday and contain the fire to 227 acres. The fire is currently 92% contained. One dozer will work with a strike team of 5 engines and a water tender this morning to "mop up" and patrol the fire's perimeter. Mopping up is a process where firefighters cool hot spots along the fire's edge to reduce the chances of the fire moving past its current perimeter.
