Willamette National Forest Issues Reduced Closure Order 10-10-2024

Due to successful firefighting efforts and favorable weather conditions, the Willamette National Forest reduced the emergency closure area for the Bingham Fire on Oct. 10, 2024, reopening popular recreation sites. The closure order, which is for public and firefighter safety, is in effect through Jan. 1, 2025, unless modified sooner.The Bingham Fire, located in the Mount Jefferson Wilderness east of Marion Forks, was reported Sept. 30, 2024, and is approximately 199 acres in size and 65% contained.
