6-29-24 Morning Update - Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park is transitioning the Park Ridge Prescribed Burn to patrol status for ongoing monitoring. This proactive measure allows firefighters to swiftly address any potential hot spots or flare-ups, maintaining effective control over the fire.
6/28/24 - Evening update - The dedication and hard work of the firefighters managing the Park Ridge Prescribed Burn over the past seven days, and in the days ahead, is commendable. Their efforts to keep the prescibed burn within its intended boundaries are crucial for community safety and firefighter well-being.
6/28/24 - Morning update: Crews will be conducting mop-up operations today, diligently searching for any remaining hot spots in and around the Village of Wilsonia. Additionally, they will focus on retrieving and organizing hose lines from the prescribed burn perimeter. Firefighters diligently preparing for the prescribed burn months ahead of the operation. They strategically create firebreaks (handline) and set up hose lines to help maintain the fire within its designated perimeter.
6-27-24 – Evening Update – After careful consideration, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park leaders and fire management staff have decided to postpone the Big Stump East project scheduled for Friday. Instead, they will prioritize mopping up efforts around the Park Ridge Prescribed Burn. Crews worked diligently today on starting this mop up process. 
6-27-24 Morning Update – Ignition operations for the Park Ridge Prescribed Burn have successfully concluded, covering 560 acres. The dedication of the firefighters involved in this operation is commendable. Now that ignition operations are finished, the focus shifts to mopping up and securing the holding lines.
6-26-24 Evening Update - Today was a successful day for the crew, who completed 160 acres around the Village of Wilsonia. Firefighters have been diligently working to reduce dead and downed vegetation near Wilsonia, extending the prescribed burn area down to General Highway and Highway 180.Expect heavy smoke and active fire in the General Highway and Highway 180 areas. Firefighters will be present, so please drive cautiously, use headlights, and follow instructions from firefighters and park rangers for your safety.
6-26-24: Morning Update - Fire crews will continue igniting the Park Ridge prescribed burn today, with 400 out of 560 acres completed.Heavy smoke is expected around the General Highway and Highway 180 areas. Firefighters will be on site, so please drive cautiously, use headlights, and comply with instructions from firefighters and park rangers for safety. Thank you for your cooperation. 
6 -25-24 Evening Update - The crew had a successful day today as they successfully completed 320 acres, bringing their total over the three days to 400 acres.
6/25/24 - Morning Update - Firefighters will be continuing the work on the Park Ridge prescribed fire today. Despite precipitation yesterday, they continue to have great progress in their actions.
6/24/23 – Evening Update - The Park Ridge prescribed burn is aimed at reducing the risk of future unwanted fires by consuming excess fuel in a targeted area. Great progress was made today, with 10 acres successfully treated even with late afternoon participation. Smoke may be visible overnight as firefighters continue to monitor the burn.
