As of March 30th, pending any significant changes in the activity of the fire, Texas A&M Forest Service will no longer be updating information on this incident. The Bosque Fire has been turned over to local fire resources. 
 
 

Texas A&M Forest Service received a request for assistance in Bosque County on the Bosque River Fire, approximately 3 miles east of Iredel, Texas, on the evening on March 27, 2022. The fire was burning actively in grass and shrub fuels. 

During initial attack, ground resources engaged in constructing containment lines to stop forward progression. State resources are working in cooperation with local fire departments.

Projected Incident Activity

No expected escalation at this time. Holding containment at 90%.Turning over control of the fire to local units. They will patrol and monitor the perimeter.

A cold front bisected the forecast area, roughly along a line from Bonham to Dallas to Waco to Killeen. Cooler temperatures, drier air, and gusty northwest winds moved in behind the front. The initial wind gust behind the front packed a punch, with most locations gusting up to 40 mph before settling to around 25-30 mph. Gusty winds continued through the afternoon before falling below 10 mph in the evening.
