Portions of Montana are seeing increasing smoke and haze today, as smoke from fires primarily in California disperses and circulates through the atmosphere.

As forecast, the Bear Creek fire is seeing active fire behavior along its southern edge due to hot, dry, and windy conditions. A smoke column is highly visible from the Idaho side. The fire has not crossed the 1882 road.
