Aviation resources on the Logan Fire are essential in supporting firefighting resources on the ground with suppression operations. This video is of a Type I helicopter providing a bucket full of water to fire personnel on the ground to help with cooling down hot spots on the west side of Hogback.

On Saturday, fire operation specialists took a reconnaissance flight of the Logan Fire to help gather intel to create an operational plan for today. These reconnaissance flights provide an aerial view of the incident, which gives fire managers and agency officials an up to date situational awareness of the incident.  These flights also assess values at risk, where to commit resources with the highest probability of success, and to formulate long term strategies  for management of the fire.
