Heavy fire traffic continues in and around the Gray Fire area. Please be respectful as community members return to the area and damage assessments continue. Report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.  

Today’s Activities: Crews continue to mop up the perimeter as containment has grown to 68%. Firefighters are also working within the interior of the burned area to perform structure assessments, fall hazard trees, suppress hot spots, and secure structure perimeters.   

Weather: The Gray Fire area may see light showers today with minimal accumulations and potential for gusts up to 20 mph as these storms pass through. A strong warming trend arrives this weekend with temperatures expected in the low to mid 90s. 

Evacuations: Spokane County Emergency Management further reduced evacuation levels in Medical Lake. Evacuation maps are posted on the Gray Fire Inciweb page and the Spokane County’s Emergency Management Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/GEGEmergencyMgt.    

Interstate 90: I-90 is open in both directions. State Route (SR) 904 and 902 are also open.      

The Gray Fire Incident Command Post is located at Pine Lodge in Medical Lake.
