Big Sky Fire Update - August 11, 2022 - 10:00 a.m.

  Fredericksburg, TX - The Big Sky Fire near Willow City, north of Fredericksburg, is now being estimated atapproximately 1,459 acres with 98% containment.
 The cause of the fire has been determined as a mechanical malfunction on a piece of equipment whichsparked the fire.
 Texas A&M Forest Service and local resources will continue periodic patrols and monitoring for hotspots.
 No homes have been lost to the fire. It was previously reported that three barn/shed type structureswere lost, however, upon further investigation when conditions allowed, a fourth was discovered.
