North Zone (SWIMT3): Firefighters are working in the Santa Barbara trailhead and Trampas area assessing repair work needed from dozer lines created in the Penasco, Trampas, and Truchas drainages. In Pot Creek, firefighters are creating rolling dips for road repair used to prevent soil erosion. Firefighters are also repairing roads by laying down surface gravel to improve drainage and prevent soil erosion. Fire crews are cleaning up the area where fire vehicles were parked south of Angel Fire near a Forest Road right off NM Highway 434 to erase the footprint and are assessing any future needs for repair. In Osha Pass, firefighters are also assessing needs for future repair work. Suppression repair work including chipping and fixing fences is happening in Mora, Holman, Guadalupita, Chacon, along the NM Highway 518 and 434 corridors, and in other areas as well. A repair group comprised of 125 firefighters, which includes 3 handcrews, engines, and heavy equipment, are cleaning debris from ditches and are available to respond to any new fire starts within the fire area.
South Zone (GBIMT7): Crews and heavy equipment were able to work on repair of dozer and handline on the west and southern sides of the fire for the first part of the day. As weather moved in yesterday, resources were pulled from the repair work for their safety and to avoid any additional resource damage. Repair work on hand and dozer lines will continue today as weather conditions allow. Resources are continuing to scout areas across the fire and will begin repair work when the area is safe to access.

Weather: With monsoonal moisture remaining in place the next few days, additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected. Given the moisture in place, the threat for debris flow and flash flooding will be moderate on today and slight on tomorrow. By early next week, the overall threat for widespread flooding and debris flows is low but remains more likely in the event a strong storm moves over high intensity burn scar areas.
