Highway 78 Closed at Mile Marker 13

The bridge has been repaired an the road is now open to local traffic only. 

Closures due to bridge damage 

The following closures are in effect:

  • from 12.50 miles north of Junction US 212-Red Lodge to 13 miles south of Junction Montana Secondary 419 - enforced road closure and road closed due to an event until further notice;
  • from 11 miles south to 9 miles south of Junction Montana Secondary 419 - enforced road closure and road closed due to an event until further notice.

Travelers can expect the following:

  • from 12.50 miles north of Junction US 212-Red Lodge to 13 miles south of Junction Montana Secondary 419 - enforced road closure and road closed with consider alternate route until further notice;
  • from 11 miles south to 9 miles south of Junction Montana Secondary 419 - enforced road closure and road closed until further notice.
Also, an update for best travel on HWY 78 around the MM13 bridge for people trying to get to Roscoe…On highway 78, turn on Lower Luther Road to Luther Roscoe Rd, then to Metcalf Rd, back onto HWY 78. This is the safest route to Roscoe at this time. If people are wanting to go to Absarokee, travelling north on Hwy 212 to Hwy 421 towards Columbus is the most safe since dirt roads are saturated.
