Sullivan Fire Update

August 23, 2022

Start Date: August 22, 2022               Cause: Under Investigation Location: 13 miles north of Hot Springs, Montana. Estimated Size: 80 acres         Containment: 10%     Personnel: 55

Incident Command: Local Type 3 organization

 

Evacuations and Closures: None  

Activity: Crews and equipment were able to complete a control line around the perimeter of this fire.  Heavy Air Tankers and Single Engine Air Tankers were used in grass openings to slow the fires spread.  Today, firefighters will continue to secure perimeter and grid for hot spots.

 

Weather: Partly cloudy. Chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Temp- 90-95 valleys and 65-70 ridges.  RH- 25-35 percent valleys and 37-47 percent ridges.  Wind- Ridge top… Northeast up to 5 mph becoming east late in the morning, then becoming west in the afternoon.
