Trout Fire August 26, 2022
Fire behavior will be moderate today due to the recent storm system that came through over the past two days. It has provided wetting rain, cooler temperatures, and higher humidity levels that contributed to minimal growth on fires. The three fires are burning in remote areas of mixed conifer stands with pockets of heavy dead and down, but fire spread has been held in check in the wetter areas. Firefighters will continue to recon these fires to distinguish fire trends like direction, fire spread, as well as suitable suppression strategies. These fires are currently not near any values at risk and remain in the confine, contain, and point protect suppression strategy. Resources for District needs include: a hot shot crew, two Type-6 Engines, and air support as needed. In addition, the two fires in the Black Mountain area are contained and will be mopped up until they are transitioned into a control status.
