December 8, 2021 - Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Uncompahgre Field Office plans to burn approximately 10 hand piles on BLM-administered lands in the Four Neighborhood area along Ouray County Road 4A/Lake Lenore subdivision approximately 4 miles north of the town of Ouray as conditions allow. These hand piles are from previous fuels reduction work that removed pinon pine, juniper, and oak brush to provide safer access/egress along the county road in the event of a wildfire. Smoke may be visible from Ouray and Hwy 550.
