EVACUATION UPDATE: Evacuation Orders Downgraded to Warnings and Warnings Lifted for El Dorado County Areas

MOSQUITO FIRE – EVACUATION UPDATE
RELEASE DATE: 09/18/2022  TIME: 2:00 p.m.

Orders Downgraded to Warnings
Per the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the following areas have changed to an Evacuation Warning status, and repopulation of these areas may now occur.

  • Canyon Creek: This includes the area north of the intersection of Spanish Dry Diggins Road and Sliger Mine Road and north of the intersection of Spanish Dry Diggins and Reservoir Road.
  • Bottle Hill: This includes the community north of the intersection of Wentworth Springs Road and Breedlove Road and south of Bottle Hill Road.
  • Grey Eagle: This includes the area west of Kings Meadow, east of the intersection of Wentworth Springs Road and Breedlove, south of Wentworth Springs and north of Bald Mountain Canyon. The area North of Wentworth Springs will remain in an evacuation Order.

Warnings Lifted
Per the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the Evacuation Warning status for these areas has been lifted and no restrictions are in effect for the following areas: 

  • Cool: This includes the area East of Highway 49, south of the County Line, north of Highway 49/Coloma Road, and west of Greenwood Road.
  • Garden Valley: This includes the area east of Lichen Creek, south of Greenwood Road, north of Highway 49, and west of Rock Creek Road. The Eldorado National Forest is still closed by Forest Order.
  • Georgetown Proper: This includes the area west of the intersection of Breedlove Road and Wentworth Springs Road, east of Greenwood, south of the Bottle Hill Road, and north of Meadow Brooke Road. Eldorado National Forest is still closed by Forest Order.
  • Swansboro: This includes the area east of Garden Valley, south of Sand Mountain, north of the Mosquito Bridge, and west of Traverse Creek. Eldorado National Forest is still closed by Forest Order.
