No growth has occurred on the McKinney Fire. Crews along with heavy equipment are working to repair contingency lines to level out the landscape and pile debris removed during suppression activities. Suppression repair work is ongoing across the fire and includes assessing hazardous trees and felling trees which pose a threat to areas where firefighters are working and in public access areas.

The Townsend Fire, the Yellowjacket Fire, and the Thompkins Fire are all contained. The Hamburg fire remains in patrol status. Yesterday, air attack flew around the fire helping to identify any interior smoke or pockets of heat and guiding crews in to engage those hot spots. Crews are prepared to provide initial attack support within the Oak Knoll Ranger District and Scott River Ranger District. Yesterday, crews responded to and contained two new starts, the Lookout Fire is .1 acres, and the Ridge fire is .1 acres.

One of the tools helping to keep firefighters safe on the fire are Rapid Extraction Modules (REM). A REM team is made up of a four-person crew that is equipped to extract injured firefighters quickly, effectively, and safely from rugged terrain. Most teams consist of two paramedics and two technical rescue firefighters. This configuration allows for an injured firefighter to receive needed medical attention from paramedics while the technical rescue workers set up ropes, pullies, and other necessary equipment to get the patient to the transport vehicle. These highly specialized teams are just one example of the safety and support provided to firefighters on the line.

WEATHER:
There is a 5% chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm over the fire area this afternoon. Highs are expected to be in the mid to upper 90s across lower elevations with low afternoon relative humidity ranging from 15 to 20%. Breezy afternoon northwest winds gusting to 18mph are forecast today with, gusts to 25 mph above 5000 feet from 6 pm through 10 pm.

EVACUATIONS:
Evacuation orders have been lifted in the McKinney fire footprint. There is still a significant threat of toxic materials and debris. Please use caution when entering the fire footprint.
