This morning, California Complex Incident Management Team 15 assumed command of the Vista Fire in unified command with the San Bernardino County Fire Department. The fire is now 1,095 acres, 0% contained. Overnight, the fire moderated below the thermal belt area; firefighters worked throughout the night constructing indirect handlines where it was safe to do so. Today, crews will look for opportunities to go direct with hand and dozer line while utilizing air resources to slow the uphill progression and cool hotspots on the flanks. Challenges remain as the fire burns in steep, inaccessible terrain, with high temperatures and low humidity persisting. Mt. Baldy Resort is still threatened, and poor air quality is impacting the community. Residents can visit AirNow.gov for information and actions that they can take. Lytle Creek Road remains closed to the public, with access to residents only.

ROAD CLOSURES:

Lytle Creek Road is closed to the public at Glen Helen Parkway. It is open to residents only.

EVACUATIONS:

The Mt. Baldy Resort was evacuated Sunday afternoon and remains closed at this time.

CLOSURES:

Portions of the Pacific Crest Trail are closed from Lytle Creek to Mt. Baldy. Those recreating in the area are strongly advised to stay off impacted trails.
