Hualapai Reservation – On Thursday morning, July 21, 2022, Hualapai Tribal Forestry personnel investigated smoke plumes on the East Side of the Hualapai Reservation. Hualapai Wildland Fire Management arrived at the fire incident near Prospect Valley at 11:30 a.m. The incident is ongoing with no estimate of containment at this time, which has since burned an estimated 280 acres of forest & mixed woodland. Local fire resources have been deployed; including Engine Crews & Fire Personnel from Hualapai Wildland Fire Management & Hualapai FIRE/EMS.
Recent moisture has diminished drought conditions in the area; however, dry grass and wind gusts still increase threats for rapid spread. An indirect attack strategy is being implemented on the fire with monitoring, as there are only small pockets of black smoke with mostly needle cast, woody debris and brush burning.
For safety and protection, the public is encouraged to stay out of the area for their safety. Please be alert to emergency vehicle traffic & emergency personnel on the ground.
YOUR ATTENTION & RESPONSE TO ALL POTENTIAL EMERGENCY SITUATIONS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
