The Southwest Area Incident Management Team 3 assumed command of the C3 Fire on Monday, July 25 at 6 a.m.
The C3 Fire has received some rain from the passing storms, but not enough to put the fire out. Firefighters will continue to build hand line on the southern perimeter working to the east and west. Scouting for contingency features like roads or other natural features will be identified for future containment lines to limit the fires spread to the north if needed. All resources on the fire have been made aware of cultural resource sites and the importance of the land for the community; suppression activities will avoid sensitive areas and try to minimize impacts where possible.
For safety and protection, the public is encouraged to stay out of the area for their safety and for the safety emergency responders. There is increased fire traffic in the community of Peach Springs and along roadways as they travel to the fire, please be cautious if driving in these areas.
Resources Assigned: 2 – Type 1 Crews, 1 – Type 2 Crew, 3 – Engines, Heavy Equipment
Weather: Partly cloudy with a light chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Daytime temperatures will be in the high 80s, with relative humidity 29-39%; with winds 10-15 mph out of the southwest.
