Dec. 5, 2023-Fire crews treated piles from 441 acres of thinning today. They plan to return Wednesday morning for more ignitions.

Fire crews wrapped up ignitions on all piles slated for burning this season. The piles were created from 550 acres of thinning. Crews will patrol and monitor until the prescribed fire is called out.
Dec. 4, 2023—Fire crews are planning to potentially begin pile burning southeast of Hopewell Lake as early as Tuesday, Dec. 5. Up to 550 acres may be treated on the Willow Pile Unit, where many piles were burned last winter. Smoke may be visible from the area.
