BEAR CREEK FIRE September 9, 2023 Type 3 Team, Incident Commander: Nate Hallam Daily Update – 9:00 AM Highlights: Yesterday both fires had moderate to low fire growth and smoke activity. Although very dry, yesterday’s winds were not as strong, which made large fire growth unfavorable. High pressures will begin to gradually break down today, bringing a cooler trend and possible erratic winds into today’s operational period (9/9). Bear Creek Fire: 883 acres, increase of 40 acreages | 83% of objectives achieved | 61 personnel assigned
BEAR CREEK FIRE September 8, 2023 Type 3 Team, Incident Commander: Nate Hallam Daily Update – 9:00 AM Highlights: Fire activity and smoke production for both fires increased yesterday due to drier and windier conditions, along with temperature rise. Fire growth and increased wildfire smoke is expected to persist in the area similar to yesterday, as near-critical fire weather conditions continue. The relative humidity recovery overnight was extremely poor, starting today’s operational period very dry. The Incident Commander will transition
September 7, 2023 Type 3 Team, Incident Commander: Nick Collard ICT3 Daily Update – 9:00 AM Highlights: Fire activity and smoke production for both fires increased yesterday due to drier and relatively windier conditions. Active fire perimeter growth yesterday contributed to approximately 200 acres of growth on each incident. Significantly increased wildfire smoke from active fire growth is expected to persist in the area as near-critical fire weather conditions are forecast for today’s operational period (9/7).
September 5, 2023 Type 3 Team, Incident Commander: Nick Collard ICT3, Grif Cochran ICT3 (T)   Daily Update – 9:00 AM Highlights: Updates will be produced as significant fire activity occurs. Fire activity is expected to be minimal with smoldering, creeping, and backing where pockets of heat remain. Scattered areas of heat may produce more smoke today as conditions continue to dry out. Resources are available to respond quickly if conditions change.
