CURRENT SITUATION The Deep Fire is currently 3,823 acres and 58% contained. The Deep Fire again showed little growth, with the only remaining heat inside the current perimeter. Thunderstorms passed to the west and north of the fire yesterday, but outflow winds had no effect on the fire.

CURRENT SITUATION The Deep Fire is mapped at 3,662 acres and is 0% contained. A community meeting will be held tonight, August 21, 2023, at the Veteran's Memorial Hall in Weaverville, Ca at 7:00 p.m.

CURRENT SITUATION The Deep Fire was mapped at 3,573 acres overnight. Most of the growth yesterday was to the south and to the north, consistent with areas of heavy contiguous fuels. As of 6:00 a.m. on August 20, no structures have been damaged or destroyed by the Deep Fire. One firefighter injury was reported yesterday.  

CURRENT SITUATION The Deep Fire was mapped yesterday evening at just over 3,000 acres. Downdraft winds from a collapsing thunder cell directly over the fire did cause moderate growth late in the afternoon.
