CURRENT SITUATION: Today’s lingering inversion limited fire spread by keeping a lid over the fire, depriving it of wind and heat, and allowing firefighters time to go direct which increased overall containment of the fire. Crews worked to keep the fire within its current footprint, strengthen containment lines, and secure areas with concentrated heat on the northwest flank southeast of Jackson Lake. Still, burning material that could rollout over containment lines remains a hazard in that area.
