The Red Creek Fire started on August 16th, 2024  approximately 12 miles southeast of Haskell, Texas. Local fire departments initially responded to this fire and requested assistance from Texas A&M Forest Service to provide additional engines, aviation and heavy Equipment on August 16th at 12:26PM with the quickly-moving burn.

South to southwest winds around 10 mph will temporarily shift
to southeast early evening, before returning back south. There
may be a few gusts to 15 mph. Highs around 105 are expected
around 4 PM with RH values around 25 percent. Overnight RH
recovery will be somewhat limited with RH maximum values around 55
percent.
