Outlook
Planned Actions

Continue to patrol and mop up DIV G and DIV R. Continue to establish to establish direct and indirect containment lines in DIV T and DIV W. With in uptick in activity in the Westfall area there will be a structure protection group positioned to focus on structure triage group.

OSFM taskforces will continue to patrol the area of the fire to the north of Bully Creek Reservoir and maintain a presence in the community of Westfall. Where appropriate, OSFM resources will support ongoing efforts with wildland partners and local resources.

Complete drawdown of OSFM resources will occur by the end of this operational period.

Projected Incident Activity

12 hours: Moderated environmental conditions should result in a shorter burn period overnight, but still only 3-5 hours of moderated fire behavior.

24 hours: Slightly moderated yet still hot and dry conditions result in longer burn periods with critical fire behavior overnight. Similar fire behavior is expected for another day with the unseasonably hot and dry conditions.

48 hours: Expect increased fire behavior as temperatures rise once again. Extreme fire behavior can be expected for long burn periods into the evening and overnight.

72 hours: Expect extreme fire behavior with running and short-range spotting. Perimeter growth is possible where containment features have not been established.

Remarks

At 2300 MDT OSFM will return the delegation of authority to Malheur County and Vale Fire and Ambulance.

Current Weather
Weather Concerns

Extreme fire weather conditions are still present with very dry fuels. Moderated overnight conditions are expected to continue for one more night, then back to the pattern with poor overnight recoveries. Expect longer burn periods again starting tomorrow night. There is a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow with the increased instability. Above average temperatures and near normal precipitation expected over the next 6-10 days.
