Current Weather
Weather Concerns

According to USDA Forest Service Meteorologist Kerry Jones, Smoke dispersion is expected to become much more favorable later in the week as southwest winds begin to increase ahead of the next Pacific storm system that will be taking aim on the Southwest U.S. this weekend into Monday.   As always,  fire managers track official NWS forecasts closely and while ventilation may be favorable, surface winds may not be and that could be the case on Saturday.  Yet another fast-moving storm system quick on the heels of its predecessor may impact northern New Mexico on Tuesday.  Overall, a couple of favorable days of burning late this week will be followed by another round or two accumulating snow in the mountains early next week and that's nearly ideal.
