Firefighters and multiple aircraft are responding to the Munger Shaw wildfire located approximately ten miles southeast of Cotton, Minnesota. The fire was detected May 12, 2025. 

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Superior National Forest firefighters are on site. The public is asked to avoid the area for their own safety and the safety of fire personnel. No drones allowed near the area

Continue use of aircraft and ground personnel, dozers, and track vehicles to continue establishing an anchor point and containment line. Night shift engine, for overnight operations.

24 hours: Growth may be limited. Slight chance of rain might bring some relief, but if none, same fire activity

48 hours: Chance of rain increase and may affect fire behavior. Type 3 team ordered

72 hours: If predicted rain fall occurs, fire conditions will ease, and add to fire fighting efforts
